Laboratory of Biomolecular Homeostasis & Resilience
Welcome to the Joshi Lab!
We are a curiosity- and innovation-driven lab at Georgetown University Medical Center investigating how biomolecular homeostasis changes during aging and becomes dysregulated in neurodegenerative diseases. Our research combines biophysical, biochemical, and machine learning approaches to uncover fundamental mechanisms in cellular and organismal biology, with a particular focus on understanding the stochastic nature of protein misfolding in aging.
Through innovative quantitative tools and techniques, we study metabolite-protein interactions that drive cellular and molecular processes underlying aging. Our long-term vision is to create a comprehensive map of the protein-metabolite structural-ome that underlies selective vulnerability in disease, helping us understand what determines healthy versus pathological cellular fates.
Located in the heart of Washington DC, a vibrant global science hub, we embrace fresh perspectives and welcome researchers from all backgrounds and cultures to join us in this exciting journey of scientific discovery and innovation.
We pursue fundamental molecular discoveries that push scientific boundaries and accelerate therapeutic breakthroughs.
Our lab culture thrives through collaboration, respect and enabling personal growth.
